He said so addressing a seminar on 'bilateral trade with China'
organized by the National Chamber of Commerce of Sri Lanka.
"A large number of Sri Lankan companies participated in the
China-South Asian Expo in Kunming City in the previous years. This Expo
was called the China-South Asian Commodity Exhibition before.
The commodity fair will be upgraded to an Expo from this year. There
will be a lot of opportunities for Sri Lankan exhibitors and
manufactures to exhibit their products and services in this year's
China-South Asian Expo," Wang Yingqi said.
Yingqi said that the delegation was also interested in organizing a
promotion seminar with the National Chamber and other chambers in this
regard.
Yingqi said, "More Chinese enterprises are interested in investing in
Sri Lanka.
Sri Lanka is the best country to invest among South Asian countries
or even a better location than some of the ASEAN countries.
Sri Lanka is a new destination of investment, the private sectors had
performed very well last year and shows a strong motive and potential
for futher development. In the past year, I had discussions with many
officials from local government departments and reached same
understanding that, the future of bilateral economic cooperation lies on
industrial and manufacture sector, which could attract a great deal of
Chinese investment together with technology, machinery and management."
