Vidyartha-Sylvestrians clash for Mediwaka trophy

Vidyartha College hopes will be very high that St.Sylvester's College could upset when these two teams clash for the M.B.W.Mediwaka trophy in the 26th limited over match to be played at the Asgiriya Stadium Kandy on March 17(Sunday) at 9.45 AM

Both teams are quite certain of winning but there could be only one winner and with the uncertain conditions prevailing in Kandy. The rain gods could be the ultimate winner.

Twenty five matches have been played in the series and the Sylvestrians are ahead with 18 wins and Vidyartha have won four which bad weather has resulted in four matches ending in no decisions.

The Sylvestrians will be led by all-rounder Dushan Malalasena with last week's Man of the Match Sumedha Dissanayake as Vice Captain.

The other members of the team are Nimesha Mendis, Indunil Samarananda, Hansamal Perera, Manujaya Perera, Dilan de Mel, Harsha Wedikkara, Malith Prematilleke, Mohammed Rifaz , Anthony Tyronne, Pramod Lashan, Harsha Madushan, Arkalanka Dissanayake, Ranjith Piyaratne.

Vidyartha College will be led by Muditha Elpitiya with Ramindu Dissanayake as his deputy.
