Shastrananda Vidyalaya, Dehiwala skipper Vipula Nishantha became the first player to score a century in the inaugural Big Match against Methodist High School, Puwakaramba, Moratuwa when he scored a brilliant 135 runs in their second essay at Tyronne Fernando stadium. Resuming at 175 for 5 Methodians were all out for 210 on day two with a lead of 96 runs and Veranga Manoj and Ravindu Sanjeewa claimed 5 for 46 and 4 for 41 respectively. In their second essay visitors declared at 237 for 7 and Nishara Omalka took 4 for 75 for the homesters.

In their second essay at the close Methodians were 40 for 3.
