After a four month foundation course in beauty culture, Seri Naturals
(Pvt) Limited today awarded 29 retiring women of Sri Lanka’s Army, Navy
and Air Force with a certificate of completion and competence at a
graduation ceremony would held in Colombo. This certification now
empower them with the necessary skills and knowledge to set up their own
businesses in beauty care.
The workshops were conducted by renowned hair stylist and makeup
artist Romesh Atapattu of Capello Salons, in conjunction with Seri
Naturals.
The workshop covered areas such as how to set up your own business,
performing a facial, bridal dressings and hair styling.
Speaking at the graduation ceremony Shayana Ameresekere, the Brand
Director of Seri Naturals said, “Based on the outstanding success of the
first series of workshops we held, we were confident that this time’s
participants too would greatly benefit from this programme. We are very
proud to see so many women graduating today, which is a testament to the
hard work put in by them to complete this course.”
This programme was carried out by Seri Naturals in line with the
vision of the Defence Secretary of Sri Lanka Gotabhaya Rajapaksa, who in
2010, initiated a programme to provide vocational training for all
members of the armed forces who have retired from active duty.
Under the programme, several forces personnel have already been
trained in this course and have now started working in Sri Lanka’s ever
expanding beauty industry.
Seri Naturals have also announced that they would be starting this
course for a third group of forces personnel in the near future. All
catering at the event was done by Perera and Sons while Gerry Jayasinghe
of The Marquee Company Lanka, handled the décor. |
