SL to promote Ayurveda at ITB
Sri Lanka would field the largest ever business
delegation posted for any travel event in the history to date when
over 160 stakeholders representing 64 travel companies take wing to
Germany to attend the ITB, in Berlin from March 6 to 10. Sri Lanka
Tourism would be led by its Managing Director, Rumy Jauffer and
Dilini Ranayake.

SMB Leasing posts PAT of Rs 72.2 mn for 2012
SMB Leasing PLC ended 2012 with an after tax
profit of Rs 72.26mn after posting a loss of Rs 11.96mn for 2011.
The company absorbed a loss of Rs 7.89mn from its associate group
companies with consolidated profit after tax for 2012 at Rs 62.40mn
compared to Rs 0.19mn for 2011. The key driver for this resurgent
bottom line was a 58% increase in top line revenue for the company
which grew to Rs 68.01mn in 2012 from Rs 106.53mn in 2011.

Janashakthi posts highest ever 62% stellar growth
Janashakthi Insurance PLC posted record profits
for the year 2012, hurdling over the Rs 8 billion mark to Rs 8.26
billion in total net income. Stringent cost control coupled with the
company’s strategy of prudent underwriting resulted in record profit
of after tax of Rs 800 million.
