Thurstanites bounce back to beat Cambrians

Thurstan College, Colombo after conceding a first innings lead of 64
runs bounced back to beat Prince of Wales’ College by 148 runs in their
inter-school second eleven cricket match worked off at Moratuwa.
Batting first, Thurstanites were all out for 146 runs with Sajith
Gunathilleke scoring 46 runs and Devaka Dabare had a good spell of
bowling with 5 for 41 for the Cambrians. In reply Cambrians scored 210
with Ravindu Sasanka making the top score of 48 runs while Iyesh
Weerarathne claimed 4 for 48.
In their second essay Thurstanites bounced back and delcared at 312
for 8 with Pramod Gunawardene and Iyesh Weerathne scoring 95 and
unbeaten 65 runs respectively. Once again Devaka Dabare captured 4 for
98. Set to make 249 runs for an outright victory Cambrians were all out
for 100 runs with Iyesh Weerathne taking 5 for 25.
