Suspects nabbed with heroin

Kanake and Ratnapura Police arrested two suspects with 5.740 grammes of heroin in Polhena and Malwala on Tuesday. The suspect arrested in Kanake was produced before the Matara Magistrate’s Court yesterday while the other suspect arrested near a school in Malwala, was placed in remand custody until March 4 after being produced at the Ratnapura Magistrate’s Court.

Meanwhile, a suspect who broke into a house in Melwatte, Grandpass and stole property worth Rs 324,500 was arrested with the stolen items by Grandpass Police on Tuesday.

The 21 – year - old suspect, a resident of the same area was produced before the Aluthkade No 4 Magistrate’s Court yesterday.
