Police investigating Rs 25 m cash robbery and carjacking
The Colombo Crime Division has launched
investigations following a Rs 25 million cash robbery and carjacking
that had taken place at around 12 noon yesterday on the Gangarama
Road in Slave island, Colombo, police said.

Robber gang arrested while fleeing in bus
Five suspects who broke into a house in Udugama
and stole jewelery and other valuables were arrested while they were
fleeing in a bus at around 5 am yesterday, by a team from the Galle
Police mobile unit. The Police seized eight gold rings, three
necklaces, a bracelet, four mobile phones, two cameras and Rs 44,390
from the suspects’ possession.

Police Dept transfers 22 officers
The Police Department transferred 22 police
officers including Senior Superintendents of Police (SSPs) and
Superintendents of Police (SPs) with immediate effect to fill
vacancies in several police divisions after several officers were
promoted to the Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG) rank.
