Police Dept transfers 22 officers

The Police Department transferred 22 police officers including Senior Superintendents of Police (SSPs) and Superintendents of Police (SPs) with immediate effect to fill vacancies in several police divisions after several officers were promoted to the Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG) rank.

Police Media Unit sources said eight SSPs and 14 SPs have been transferred due to service requirements. SSP E M M Ekanayake has been transferred to the Kankesanthurai Division from the Police Kennel Division, SSP D R G M B Ellapola has been transferred to the Kandy Division from the Gampola Division, Criminal Reports Division Director SSP Champika Siriwardhena has been transferred to the Kilinochchiya Division, Sports Division Director Priyantha Jayakody has been transferred as the Acting Director of Criminal Reports Division, Director of Buildings Division SSP P.S.Walgama has been transferred as the Director of Transport Division, W M M Wickremasinghe has been transferred to the Nugegoda Division form the Presidential Security Division, SSP L F Pathinayake has been transferred to the Galle Division from Kalutara division and SSP A S K Munasighe has been promoted as the Director of Asset Management Division.

SP J A P Gamini Perera has been transferred to the Gampola Division from Kankesanthurai Division, SP H M S W Herath has been promoted as the Director of Police Kennels Division, SP Edman Mahendra has been transferred as the Director of Buildings Division form Kilinochchi Division, SP L H Roshan de Silva has been transferred to Kalutara division from Kelaniya division, SP C E Wedisinghe has been transferred to the Kelaniya Division from Tangalle division, SP G I D R Wijesinghe has been transferred to Bandarawela division from the Presidential Security Division, SP A G J Chandrakumara has been transferred as the Private Assistant of the Senior DIG of Uva Province from Bandarawela Division.
