STF raids three cannabis chenas

The STF arrested a person near the petrol shed in Kadawatha with 3.8 g of heroin worth of Rs 30,000 in his possession on Monday evening. The suspect was a resident of Kalawana, Hiriyala, Ambagaswewa.

The raid was conducted on the directions of ASP Sylvester Wijesinghe by by a group of STF personnel led by SI Gomes. The suspect and the productions were handed over to the Police Narcotics Bureau for further investigations.

Two groups attached to the Buttala STF camp led by SI Nanayakkara and SI Dilshan raided three cannabis chenas in the Unakanda area. The chenas which were two acres in extent had 8,400 cannabis plants.

One suspect was arrested during the raid. The suspects and samples of productions were handed over to the Thanamalvila Police for further investigations.
