Illegal private bank: man arrested
A man who had allegedly operated an unautorised
private bank was arrested by the Police. The suspect was arrested by
the Special Crime Investigation Unit of Kandy Police for managing
the unauthorised private bank with branches at Badulla, Bandarawela,
Girandurukotte, Mahiyanganaya, Polonnaruwa and Ratnapura.

Badulla Police nabbed a man carrying eight kgs
of venison recently. The man aged 35 from Pahalagama, Badulla was
taking the meat to sell it to a hotel, the Police said.
