Mahasamayama celebrates Nelum Pokuna's first anniversary

The inaugural show of Professor Ariyaratne Athugala's Mahasamayama will be staged at Nelum Pokuna Mahinda Rajapaksa Theatre on January 30 under the patronage of President Mahinda Rajapaksa at 6. 30 pm. The stage play narrates the conflict between Gotaimbara and Mahasona, with interfusion of Lankan and Indian legends and folklore.

The cast comprises Jackson Anthony, Sriyantha Mendis, Ravibandu Vidyapathi, Channa Wijeyawardana, Nissanka Diddeniya, Indika Upmalee, Kumara Thirimadura, Chathurika Peiries and Madani Malwatte. The security forces also take part in the play. Music composed by Samantha Perera. The play will mark a new era in the history of stage play.

A school show will be held on January 31 at 2.30 pm, while public shows will be held on February 1 and 2.
