Cheaper veggies at Lanka Sathosa

Lanka Sathosa commenced selling vegetables at lower than market
prices since yesterday on the directives of Co-operatives and Internal
Trade Minister Johnston Fernando.
The lowered price list of the vegetables at the Lanka Sathosa was
handed over to Minister Fernando by Lanka Sathosa chairman Nalin
Fernando at noon yesterday. The minister inspecting the list instructed
the Lanka Sathosa chairman to further reduce the prices of vegetables.
The prices of 15 vegetables including pumpkin, brinjal, raddish, beans,
carrots etc have been reduced.
The prices of vegetables at Lanka Sathosa have been reduced lower
than the retail prices at the Manning Market. For example the price of
beans, ladies fingers and carrots are sold at Rs 170.00, Rs150.00 and Rs
160.00 a kg respectively while the same are Rs 110.00, Rs 75.00 and Rs
120.00 at the Lamka Sathosa.
