Ambuluwawa Complex: India helps renovation
The Indian government will support the renovation of the Ambuluwawa
Multi Religion and Bio-Diversity Complex in Gampola, Indian Assistant
High Commissioner to Sri Lanka Arumugam Nadarajah said.
The Assistant High Commissioner said steps taken by Prime Minister D
M Jayaratne to establish religious co-existence has been commended by
the Indian government. Nadarajah expressed these views following a tour
of the Multi-Religious and Bio-Diversity Complex in Ambuluwawa.
He requested an estimate from the Prime Minister to provide
allocations for the renovation of Vee Bissakara stupa and the kovil.
The Assistant Indian High Commissioner who spoke in appreciation of
the environment in Ambuluwawa said he was greatly taken in by Sri
lanka's natural beauty.
He said he focused his attention on providing funds to develop
telescope facilities and underground viewing galleries at the site.
Environment Minister Abdul Cader and Ambuluwawa Multi- Religion and
Bio-Diversity Complex treasurer G W Chandraratne also participated. |
