The World Economic Forum is strictly by invitation only with 2,600
participants representing over 100 countries. The roll call includes
CEOs and representatives from the world's biggest corporations;
politicians and heads of state from the G20 and other key countries;
technology innovators; social entrepreneurs; philanthropists and media
companies.
Abeygoonasekara will be the only Sri Lankan Young Global Leader
attending from Colombo for the 2013 conference, where leaders from
different spheres of the world are coming for this prestigious
gathering,
German Chancellor Angela Merkel and David Cameron will be among this
year's distinguished gathering. The Forum is a platform to address the
pressing issues that threaten the world order and identify solutions to
these challenges. This year's theme is "Resilient Dynamism" which in the
context of today's economic conditions is timely topic.
As Professor Klaus Schwab founder of the Economic forum commented "
Future growth in this new context requires dynamism - bold vision and
even bolder action. Either attribute - resilience or dynamism - alone is
insufficient as leadership in 2013 will require both, thus the theme of
'Resilient Dynamism'."
The World Economic Forum is an independent international organization
committed to improving the state of the world by engaging business,
political, academic and other leaders of society to shape global,
regional and industry agendas for the last four decade.
