'GN planned to rob from flood relief fund'
A Grama Niladhari attached to the Ambalantota
Divisional Secretariat attempted to rob Rs 1,100,000 from the
disaster fund without providing relief to the flood - hit , Disaster
Management Minister Mahinda Amaraweera said. The minister was
addressing a meeting at Magama Tissamaharama where he distributed
relief items among the flood affetced.

Moratuwa campus clash: three in protective custody
Three students of the Moratuwa University
arrested in connection with an incident where six students were
injured in a clash between the students of NDT and Engineering
Faculty of University of Moratuwa on January 16, were ordered to be
placed in protective custody until January 23 by the Moratuwa
magistrate.
