Six women among eight shoplifters arrested

Wattala Police arrested eight suspects on Monday and seized property allegedly stolen from supermarkets throughout the country. The Police acting on information arrested the suspects in Mirigama. They included six women.

Police recovered four LCD televisions sets, three laptops, three DVD players and irons, thermos flasks and a stock of readymade garments from their possession.

The suspects were remanded until January 8 after being produced before the Wattala magistrate.
