External Affairs Ministry launches
new service
President Mahinda Rajapaksa spoke with several Sri Lankan
embassies via Skype at Temple Trees last evening to launch a
new programme of the Ministry of External Affairs that
establishes video communication links between the Ministry’s
Consular Division and Sri Lankan missions and expatriates
abroad. The new programme enables Sri Lankan embassies and
Sri Lankan citizens living abroad to contact the Consular
Division of the Ministry directly to seek assistance and
obtain information. President Rajapaksa spoke with several
Sri Lankan ambassadors and obtained updates on matters
pertaining to Sri Lankans and matters in those countries.
Sri Lankan expatriates who need assistance on
consularrelated matters will be able to contact the Ministry
of External Affairs via Skype. The Ministry hopes to soon
make the service available 24 hours a day. External Affairs

Good Governance and Infrastructure
Senior Minister Ratnasiri Wickramanayaka participates in a
ceremony to open a road at Horana constructed under the Eka
Gamakata Eka Wadak programme. Kalutara district

An Ayurveda exhibition was held at
the Mirigama Pradeshiya Sabha to mark the fifth anniversary
of opening the Ayurveda Dispensary in Mirigama. The
exhibition was jointly organised by the Mirigama Pradesiya
Sabha and the Ayurveda Department under the patronage of
Indigenous Deputy Minister Pandu Bandaranayake. Here Deputy

Five wheelchairs were donated among
elders in the Akkaraipattu DS Division by the Divisional
Secretariat at Akkaraipattu Central College under the Deyata
Kirula 2013 development programme recently. Ampara

Batticaloa was held at Devanayagam Hall, Batticaloa.
