Akkaraipattu road construction in progress

Road construction work in the Akkaraipattu Municipal Council is in progress with funds from World Bank and JAICA.

A supervisory committee has been appointed to monitor the construction of concrete roads within the municipal area.

A meeting in this regard was held at the Municipal Council recently.

Akkaraipattu Mayor Athaulla Ahamed Zackie presided.

Municipal Commissioner A L M Azmi, municipal engineer A M M Hakeem, senior officials of the Road Development Department and contractors participated.

Some members of the public complained that the standard of the road was poor.

The mayor said he will look into this.

The Mayor requested contractors to complete road work before the North and East monsoon rains.
