ANC Education offers pathway to Doctor of Medicine qualification
ANC Education the premier international higher education conglomerate
in the country once again offers anopportunity for students, to fulfill
their dream of becoming a medical doctor. ANC has collaborated with
Angeles University Foundation (AUF) in the Philippines to tread a
pathway that allows students to obtain a Doctor of Medicine (MD)
qualification.

The MD is recognized and accepted by the Sri Lanka Medical Council (SLMC)
and World Health Organization (WHO) as well as many other international
medical councils including Education Commission for Foreign Medical
Graduates (ECFMG – USA),General Medical Council (GMC – UK) and
Australian Medical Council (AMC)
Members of the senior management of Angeles University Foundation
visited Sri Lanka recently to establish the collaboration between ANC
and AUF for the MD programme. Joseph Angeles, President, Olga Tulabut,
Acting Dean College of Arts and Sciences, Evelyn B. Yumiaco, Dean -
School of Medicine and Archimedes David, Professor - Graduate School and
College of Arts and Sciences were the representatives from AUF.
The Doctor of Medicine programme offered at AUF is based on the
American system where medicine is considered a postgraduate degree.
According to this system, students are required to complete a bachelor’s
degree prior to proceeding to the medical degree programme.
Under current rules, Bachelor’s degrees from reputable and government
recognized universities in Sri Lanka are accepted as pre-medicine
degrees.
The BS Psychology degree, offered at ANC from the Missouri University
of Science and Technology, USA is likewise accepted as a fully
recognized qualification to enter the Doctor of Medicine programme at
AUF.
