Businessman’s body found in Kelani river
The body of a businessman was recovered from the
Kelani River at Pahala Hanwella yesterday. Shantha Kumara Edirisnghe,
40, was reported missing for the past two days.

PS passes resolution to arrest girl’s assailants
The Velanai Pradeshiya Sabha has passed a
resolution to arrest those responsible for the death of a
four-year-old girl allegedly by strangulation. It is alleged that
the girl had been sexually abused and strangled to death. This
incident had provoked high tension and anger in Mandaithivu Ward
No.2 where the girl’s body was floating in a well.
