Abans signs agreement with GMOA

Abans Ltd and the Government Medical Officer Association (GMOA) signed an agreement, which involved Abans providing laptop computers and tablets from HP to members of the association.

GMOA is an association that was started in Kandy in 1926 by 16 medical officers. Today, GMOA's membership exceeds 16,000, with 90 effectively functioning branch unions across the island.

The agreement between Abans and GMOA adopts HP's slogan of "Live Life Your Way." The agreement offers doctors within the association, HP laptops and tablets for use in their medical practices. The new HP Envy line of ultra books is particularly promoted within the agreement. The new lines of ultrabooks are thin, light, sleek, affordable and utterly efficient, providing up to 8 hours of battery life.

The Envy ultrabooks come with built in Beats audio, Intel Smart Response and Rapid Technology and HP Protect Smart airbags which cushions the ultrabook if it is ever dropped.

Issues about servicing these laptops and tablets will be eliminated by Abans as they will be providing all doctors with on site servicing of the equipment. Abans will be servicing over 35 hospitals Islandwide, including those in the North and East Districts. In addition to doorstop service, the laptops and tablets will come with free internet usage and discounts on relevant software packages.

Sampath Bank and HSBC will also be offering easy payment facilities for up to three years under this agreement, as will Abans Hire Purchase schemes as well, instead of the standard 12 months interest free.

Abans are well equipped to offer professionals an equally professional after-sales-service by factory trained qualified and experienced computer technicians and engineers and sophisticated equipment to service and repair delicate electronic equipment. Abans are extending a special "on the spot" home service facility for doctors because they realize that doctor's time is precious. Abans Mobile Service Facility is available to doctors and hospitals in all districts including North and East of Sri Lanka.
