US $ one billion targeted by year end:
Tourism revenue reaches US $ 720 mn mark
2.5 million tourist arrivals anticipated by 2016:
The revenue generated from the Tourism Industry
had shown a 22 % increase as against the previous year and has
reached US $ 720 million by September 2012. The country is looking
at increasing this to US $ one billion by the end of this year. Up
to September, there had been 693, 000 arrivals.

Mahindra with Valvoline introduces:
Maximile lubricants in Sri Lanka
The US $ 15.4 billion Mahindra Group, announced
plans to expand its automotive after-sales services in Sri Lanka.
Mahindra has tied up with Valvoline’s local partner, United Motors
Lanka PLC, which will be the official supplier of lubricants to
Mahindra’s local partner Ideal motors network of dealers.

SME sector optimistic
The Government will present its Budget 2013 in
Parliament on November 8. According to government sources, this
year’s budget would be a development oriented, SME friendly budget,
