Water levels in catchment areas increase

Water levels at the Castlereagh and Maussakele reservoirs have risen up to 80 percent with the heavy rains being experienced in catchment areas in the hill country.

Power plants, such as, Laxapana, new Laxapana, Wimalasurendra, Canyon and Polpitiya, to which the water is supplied from these reservoirs, have been able to generate power to their maximum capacity due to this reason.
