Museum break - in :
Main suspect arrested
The Police said yesterday the main suspect in the
Colombo National Museum artefact robbery was taken into custody on
Saturday. The chief suspect in the National Museum robbery, Lansage
Priyantha Mendis alias Kumara alias Kan Getta, a resident of
Siyambalape was taken into custody by the Criminal Investigation
Department (CID), Police Media Spokesman SSP Prishantha Jayakody
said.

Navy to salvage Lion Air wreckage
The Navy said arrangements are in place to
salvage the wreckage of a passenger plane shot down by the LTTE 14
years ago in the Northern seas. Navy Media Spokesman Commander
Kosala Warnakulasooriya said the wreckage of the plane will be
salvaged by October 31.
