CEAT-SLARDAR 1000 Rally will be a treat to watch

Twenty eight competitors will make every effort to be crowned as Sri
Lanka’s Rally King at this year’s CEAT- SLARDAR 1000 Rally which will
cover approximately 1000 kilometres from October 26 to 28. The rally is
being held after a lapse of a long four years and it was initiated in
1987.
Three past winners, namely Rizvi Farouk, Prasanna Ranansinghe and
Ashhar Hameem will be notable starters when the and will be looking
forward to outrun the others to.
Twice runner up Samin Attanayake, experienced Noel Rodrigo,
entertainers Shafraz Junaid, Yaqoob Ariff, Deepthi Perera, and Warna
Ariyadasa are some of whom will vie for the coveted trophy.
There will be 60 check-points throughout night and day in the rally
which consists of four stages with a night stop at Bandarawela covering
around 1000 kilometres.
Kelani Tyres (CEAT) have come forward to sponsor this event while
co-sponsors will be Car Plan - agents for KIA, Red Bull, SNEAKER and
Cargills. Asia Exhibition and Convention Center (hosts for the Motor
Show 2012) will be the official venue partner providing us with all the
assistance, including a start-finish ramp, for the flag off of the Rally
next Friday.
The rally plotting team is headed by 1998 SLARDAR 1000 winner Pubudu
Wickrama and his team Nishan Wasalathanthri and Kamil Hussain.
With some of the best rallying action is guaranteed under their
expertise, the 2012 CEAT-SLARDAR 1000 will be a treat to watch. |
