The torrential rains being experienced islandwide have increased the water level of the Menik Ganga bringing great relief to devotees of the Kataragama Devalaya, who frequently participate in religious observances. Devotees who were confronted with the water scarcity problem are now overjoyed as the water level in reservoirs in the region have increased.
