Assisting entrepreneurs to market their products directly in the
global market and to provide necessary training and instructions to
improve their production process will bring immense benefit to the
country, said Dr Jagath Chandrawansa. “Sri Lanka pavilion at Global
Village in Dubai which will be held form October 21, 2012 to March 30,
2013 is an excellent opportunity to promote our products
internationally,” its main promoter Dr Chandrawansa said at a media
conference.
He said that we could promote our SME and micro sector to
international level would help our local entrepreneurs. Therefore,
Global Village in Dubai is claimed to be the world’s largest tourism,
leisure and entertainment exhibition, which was the first cultural,
entertainment, family and shopping destination which attracts more than
six million visitors annually, he said. Dr Chandrawansa said that this
exhibition covers more than 17.2 million sq ft and visitors from all
over the world participate in it.
This would be an ideal ground for Sri Lanka to position itself as a
leading exhibitor at the event and promote its goods globally. “The many
visitors from all over the world including visitors from the Gulf
Corporation countries will pave the way for local entrepreneurs to
promote their products and enter into new business deals with them at
the exhibition centre,” he said.
Dr Chandrawansa said that new areas of the entertainment complex of
the Global Village are located on the Emirates Road. It is a ideal
opportunity to promote our SME and Micro sector products in this
exhibition, he said. |
