Chandradasa and Nimalsiri excel in veterans meet

All Island State Services Athletic Meet was held at the Sports Ministry Grounds, Colombo on the 26th and 27th of September, 2012. The organizers have included races for the Veterans and this enabled R. A. Chandradasa from Ratnapura District to win 100, 200 metres and Long Jump (70-74 age category).

J. A. Nimalsiri of Siyambalagashena Sub Post Office won the 800 and 1,500 metres races (40-44 age group).

Chandradasa was a former employee of the Postal Dept. and Nimalsiri is still serving in the Postal Dept. and the duo won 5 Gold Medals and they were the only two athletes from the Postal Dept. who won the said events.
