The Korean government agreed to provide financial assistance for a
large number of agriculture projects and also provide scholarships for
Sri Lankans to study in Korea on modern agriculture technologies,
Agriculture Minister Mahinda Yapa Abeywardane said.
“Since the past five years, the Korean government contributed much
for the development of the country’s agriculture field,” the minister
said.
He said the two countries also plan to sign a bilateral agreement to
exchange gene plasma at the Asia Pacific Agriculture workshop which will
be held in Korea in December 2012. |
