White Cane Day held in Chunnakam

The White Cane Day was held in Chunnakam to honour visually handicapped and creating a reawakening among the public in assisting them and refraining from discriminating them.

This day was organized by the Chunnakam Lions Club and the “Varlaham” in Chunnakam.

An impressive demonstration paraded along the main Chunnakam Road and wended its way along the Sabapathipillai Road to reach the Home for visually handicapped.

Lions Club President Lion Devarajan presided at a meeting held to felicitate visually handicapped.

The District President Lions Club Lion K Satkunathevan and his wife participated as chief guests. visually handicapped were presented white canes at the prize presentation ceremony.
