Martin Wickramasinghe essay contest

Friendly organizations of the national Library Services Board and the
Martin Wickramasinghe Trust have jointly organized an essay competition
on Martin Wickramasinghe.
The essay competition will be conducted in two age groups for school
children in three languages.
The maximum words for the essay contest in the 12 -15 age category is
750, while the maximum number of words for the 16 -18 age group should
not exceed 1000 words.
The topic of the essay for the 12-15 age group is -“Description of
the life of Martin Wickramasinghe and the lessons we can learn from it?.
The topic of the essay for the 16- 18 age group is -” Name a book
written by Martin Wickramasinghe and describe its importance and value
to you,
A student can submit one or more essays for this competition, which
should be presented after filling the relevant form published in the
news papers. The essay should be duly signed and authorized by the the
school Principal.
An independent panel of judges will select the winners and their
decision will be final. All essays should be submitted before October
31.
Duly completed and perfected essays should be sent to: The Essays
Competition of Martin Wickramasinghe, Friends of National Library,
National Library Services Board, No 14, Independent Road, Colombo-07.
The first three prize winners will receive Rs 5,000, Rs 3,000 and Rs
2,000 respectively.
Winners will also be awarded a certificate and the membership of the
National Library Services Board.
Consolation prizes and certificates will also be awarded to the
