Kotelawala Defence University and SLIIT emerge cager champions

Leaders Trophy 2012 inter-university and Higher Education Institutes
Basketball Tourney organized by Kotelawala Defence University was held
at Kotelawala Defence University Indoor Stadium recently.
The women's championship title was secured by Kotelawala Defence
University and Men's Championship title was clinched by Sri Lanka
Institute of Information Technology, Malabe. Universities and five
Higher Education Institutes participated at the tourney.
Kotelawala Defence University womens team (KDU) and Royal Institute
(RI) women's teams qualified for the womens' final.
The mens' final of the tourney was held between Sri Lanka Institute
of Information Technology, Malabe (SLIIT) and Australian College of
Business Technology (ACBT)

Men's SLIIT 39 points and ACBT 38 points
Women's KDU 39 points and RI 15 points
Both 3rd places of the men's and women's tourney were secured by
Moratuwa University. The most valuable player of the women's tourney was
Miss Lihinika Weeraratne (KDU) and the Most Valuable Player (Mens') was
J V D Wickramasinghe. (SLIIT) The chief guest of the awards presentation
ceremony was the Vice Chancellor of Katelawala Defence University Major
General Milinda Peiris.

occasion. On behalf of KDU Major Basnayake co-ordinated the tournament.
