MICH protests on You Tube

The President of the Moors' Islamic Cultural Home Omar Kamil has written to the ambassador of USA to Sri Lanka Michelle Sison with regard to the trailer shown on You Tube of the American film Innocence of Muslims. The letter states as follows:

We wish to bring to Your Excellency's kind notice about the above film and express our strong protest on this low budget film which unbelievably is humiliating the Holy Messenger of Almighty Allah, our Holy Prophet Muhammad (On Whom be Peace Upon).

Any Muslim is bound to love the Prophet more than anything else in the world including their parents and the country.

Under such circumstances ridiculing our beloved Prophet Muhammad (OWBU) by any form will be treated as provoking Muslims to rise against the issue and also influencing the trouble makers of the society to behave violently.

In this connection, we believe, it is the duty of all leaders of the world to condemn such visuals etc., and take appropriate action against the wrong-doers.

Your esteemed country which this Institution very much respects and adores, should not allow the production of such films or for that matter anything derogatory towards the religions leaders under the guise of 'Freedom of Expression' but strictly enforce laws not to infringe the feelings of other religious communities living around the world.
