Ten police officers transferred
The Police Department transferred 10 officers
including Senior Superintendents of Police (SSPs), Superintendents
of Police (SPs) and Assistant Superintendents of Police (ASPs)on
account of service requirements on the instruction of Inspector
General of Police (IGP) N.K.Illangakoon.

Policemen injured during sand mining raid
Three officers of Ambalantota Police were
injured when they were attacked by illegal sand miners in Koggalala,
Kadawara in the Ambalantota Police division on Thursday. A suspect
injured during the confrontation was warded at the Hambantota
General Hospital while another suspect was arrested.

Vaiko arrested
MDMK General Secretary Vaiko was detained by
Police on Friday when he tried to move further from Gadchicholi to
Sanchi. "Vaiko has been detained as he tried to move from
Gadchicholi near Pandhurna along with his supporters," Madhu Kumar,
Inspector General (Jabalpur Range) told PTI.
