Essay, painting competition to celebrate World Post Day
The Department of Posts which has joined the Universal Postal Union
and the postal services of 193 of its member states to celebrate World
Post Day on October 9 has launched an essay and painting competition
among schoolchildren with the objective of developing their knowledge
and attitudes regarding the postal service.
The competition will be conducted in all three languages under
junior, secondary and senior categories. It will be open to all students
except children of postal employees. Each candidate can send entries for
both competitions. Details as to the theme, category, name, address,
province, medium, school, grade should be written on the back of each
entry with the attestation of mother, father or guardian stating that
the creation is an individual effort of the applicant. All entries
should be submitted to the nearest Post Office to be sent to Post Master
General, Postal Headquarters, Colombo 10 free of postage charges on or
before September 14. |
