Indian NDC team calls on Navy Commander

A 15 member team from the National Defence College (NDC), India,
called on Navy Commander Vice Admiral Somathilake Dissanayake at the Sri
Lanka Navy Headquarters, recently. The team headed by Maj. Gen. Anurag
Gupta also comprised of officers from Australia, India, Nepal, Saudi
Arabia and Uganda.
They were accompanied by Indian Defence Adviser in Sri Lanka Captain
Sumeet Kapoor. The team viewed a presentation on the role and structure
of the Sri Lanka Navy with special emphasis on asymmetric warfare.
The head of the team and the Indian DA Maj. Gen. Anurag Gupta had
cordial discussions on matters of mutual interest with Navy Commander
Vice Admiral Somathilake Dissanayake.
The delegation, comprising four Brigadiers, a Commodore, an Air
Commodore, a Colonel,two Brigadier Generals, a Group Captain and four
Civilian officials are in Sri Lanka till September 16 as a part of their
strategic neighborhood tour.
Mementos were also exchanged as a gesture of goodwill to mark the
occasion.
