SL has notched tremendous economic achievements - Chinese envoy

China yesterday said that Sri Lanka has notched tremendous
achievements in the economic sector with the end of 30 years of conflict
under the leadership of President Mahinda Rajapaksa.
Speaking to a group of media persons in Colombo, Chinese ambassador
Wu Jianghao said that the living standards of the people have improved
with the end of conflict and the government has succeeded in promoting
social welfare of the people.
"All social undertakings are witnessing a comprehensive development
and the people's living standard has constantly developed", he added Sri
Lanka has taken vast strides in the fields of reconstruction and
economic revival in the aftermath of conflict and it will register more
and more achievements in the years to come in its quest to become Wonder
of Asia, he said.
He said that China as a friendly nation is happy over the
achievements made by Sri Lanka.
