Sagarika pens childhood memories
Childhood is known as the wonder years of a person's life. These
memories not only shape a person's career and personality but also are
some of the most cherished times of any individual. That is why we tend
to freeze the emotions and scenes of such incidents by penning them in
diaries and journals.
Writing such incidents in a diary is common but launching a book of
memories is rare. Silumina Deputy Features Editor Sagarika Dissanayake
had taken on this endeavour via Punchi Kale Mang.
Ven Pallegama Sirinivasa Maha Thera and Eminence Most. Rev. Dr.
Malcolm Cardinal Ranjith are two figures who have stood as examples to
the society. People know about their religious life but their childhood
has not been in focus for so long.
Jayalath Manoratne and Tony Ranasinghe are two veterans in the
entertainment scene. Their productions are well loved by the public but
their childhood memories are also equally entertaining.
Even the Vedda chief Uru Varge Vannilaththo have enthralling
childhood stories to tell.
Punchi Kale Mang relates the childhood stories of many respected and
well loved religious, art, science, politics etc public figures.
The stories had been carried out as a series in the Silumina
newspaper. The book comes as a Surasa Publication and will be available
at the Book Fair. |
