Housemaid nabbed with jewellery

A Sri Lankan housemaid returning from Malaysia was arrested at the
Bandaranayake International airport for allegedly stealing Rs 2.4
million worth gold jewellery from her workplace in Malaysia.
Police seized the jewellery from her possession.
They arrested the suspect after a complaint was lodged by her
employer in Malaysia. The Police obtained the woman’s particulars
through the Malaysian High Commission and the agency in Kurunegala
through which the woman was employed.
Katunayake Police are investigating. |
