Garlic unfit for consumption seized

A stock of 41,000 kgs of garlic unfit for human consumption was seized by Consumer Protection Authority officers at the Dambulla Dedicated Economic Centre on Sunday. The stock valued at Rs 3,500,000 was being cleaned to be introduced to the market.

The cleaning up process was done using machinery and manual labour.

Several suspects were also arrested.
