"There are 347,099 eligible voters in the Batticaloa, Kalkudah and Paddirippu electoral divisions in the Batticaloa district for the forthcoming Eastern Provincial Council Elections' District's Assistant Commissioner of Elections Asanka Ratnayake said.

He said 414 polling centres will be set up in the district for the convenience of voters and his office is now busy preparing ballot boxes for the elections to be held on September 8.
