SJC’s Bonjean Hall refurbished:

‘Education, best way to manage change’

We live in a time of rapid change, socially and culturally, and it is not always positive. The best way to manage change is education, said Deputy External Affairs Minister and St Joseph’s College Old Boys Union Chairman Neomal Perera.

He was participating as Chief Guest on the invitation of Reverend Father Sylvester Ranasinghe Rector of St. Joseph's College at the reopening of the refurbished Bonjean Hall at St Joseph's College recently.

“The world has become one huge knowledge hub. Investment for the highest quality of education is important,” he said.

“We have engaged in many initiatives in many ways. We must thank everyone who made the dream of refurbishing the Bonjean Hall possible,” the deputy minister added. He said: “To be here with all of you in this capacity, I think we have all lived to make St. Joseph's proud.”

St. Joseph's was established in 1896 by Rev Christopher Ernst Bonjean. It is a premier institute in teaching the gospel of Christ. Since its foundation, the college has made many strides in the field of education and has produced eminent men in every field.

Rev Fr Sylvester Ranasinghe said education is a dire need in society and thanked the President and members of the Council of Management and the Old Boys Union for their commitment and dedication for the completion of the project and thanked the teachers of the college for their support.
