RDB expands to Kilinochchi

The Regional Development Bank (RDB), opened its 259th Branch at
Kilinochchi on August 6. It was opened by Ms. Keshala Jayawardana, the
chairperson of the bank. Ms. Keshala Jayawardana, addressing the
gathering at the opening ceremony, said that the bank was happy to open
this branch to assist the people in Kilinochchi who had little exposure
to facilities of a real development bank.
“People in the area would now be in a better position to avail
themselves, not only of micro finance facilities for projects such as
agriculture, dairy, animal husbandry, small industry, but the
professional expertise that the bank is capable of providing in securing
markets, forward sales agreements and coordination that would protect
RDB customers belonging to these segments.”GM/CEO Rathnasiri
Siriwardhane, said the bank has been catering to the bottom portion of
the pyramid, trying to uplift their living standards which was also a
prime objective in development banking.
He further said that the bank introduced custom made products and
services to people covering the needs of target segments and invited
people to open and maintain fruitful relationships with the bank. |
