Cambrians trounce Palians

A scintillating chanceless 159 runs which included twenty fours and
four over the ropes, facing 125 balls and occupying the crease for 160
minutes by Cambrian Vice Captain Suchira Fernando who was also
associated in an opening stand of 140 runs with Kusal Mendis who scored
68 enabled Prince of Wales to trounce Dharmapala Vidyalaya, Pannipitiya
by 211 runs in the inter-school Under 17 division one cricket match
played in Moratuwa yesterday.
With this victory Cambrians booked a berth in the second round of the
tournament. Taking the first lease homesters piled up a mamoth score of
400 for 7 and Palians were bowled out for 189 runs with Janidu
Maduwantha scoring 85 runs for the visitors.
PWC – 400/7 in 50 overs (Suchira Fernando 159, Kusal Mendis 68,
Nihundu Janeesha 38, Satchith Pushpakumara 34 n/o, Gayan Chamara 44,

Dharmapala – 189 in 41.5 overs (Tharana Hondamuni 28, Janidu
