Outgoing US ambassador to Sri Lanka Patricia A Butenis with External Affairs Minister Prof G L Peiris

Outgoing US ambassador to Sri Lanka Patricia A Butenis paid a farewell call on External Affairs Minister Prof G L Peiris at the External Affairs Ministry on Tuesday.

Ambassador Butenis, at the conclusion of her tour of duty, discussed with Minister Prof G L Peiris the ongoing programmes between Sri Lanka and the United States in a variety of fields including business collaboration, defence related initiatives with particular reference to naval collaboration and the expansion of programmes in the higher education sector.

Minister Peiris expressed satisfaction on the positive outcome of discussions in Washington in respect of the continuing availability of GSP concessions for Sri Lankan products in the United States.
