Elaborate arrangements for Vidulka 2012

The Sri Lanka Sustainable Energy Authority (SEA), under the patronage
of the Power and Energy Ministry will stage the premier national
sustainable energy event of Sri Lanka, Vidulka 2012 for the third
consecutive year.
This event is scheduled to be held from August 17 to 19 at the BMICH.
Significance and timeliness of Vidulka has been heightened by the fact
that the year 2012 being declared as the 'Year for Sustainable Energy
for All' by the United Nations and thereby making it a landmark year in
the global sustainable energy scenario. President Mahinda Rajapaksa will
grace the occasion held under the patronage of Power and Energy Minister
Patali Champika Ranawaka. Vidulka 2012 Energy Exhibition will be
inaugurated by Prime Minister D. M. Jayaratne.
Deputy Minister Power and Energy Premalal Jayasekara, Power and
Energy Ministry Secretary M. M. C. Ferdinando and key stakeholders in
the energy sector, including representatives from international
organizations will also attend. Sustainable Energy Authority Director
Energy Management Madhawa Waidyaratna said Vidulka 2012 is planned to be
a spectacular showcase of Sri Lanka's energy related products and
services.
A unique combination of Sri Lanka National Energy Efficiency Awards,
Energy Symposium and Energy Exhibition and other corporate events are
planned under the theme 'Today for Tomorrow' adopted by the Power and
Energy Ministry paving the way for the long term goal of achieving
energy sustainability of the country.
"This will be in line with the expectations of Mahinda Chintana -
Vision for the Future, to develop Sri Lanka as a dynamic global hub of
energy," he said.
The key objectives of organizing the event are unveiling of
state-of-art technologies and dissemination of up-to-date knowledge in
the domain of sustainable energy.
Vidulka will provide a unique platform for energy sector
organizations, equipment suppliers, manufacturers, innovators and
academia to promote their products and services, publish research
findings related to energy conservation and renewable energy. It will
serve a high level forum among different stakeholders in the energy
sector to share and exchange knowledge.
This event will present an ideal opportunity for business
leaders/organizations in the energy sector to further strengthen and
promote the recognition already achieved in their respective domains.
The Sri Lanka Sustainable Energy Authority seeks to join hands with the
business leaders of the Energy Sector in Sri Lanka, making them active
partners of this national event as sponsors or exhibitors of Vidulka
2012.
