CEB, Youth Affairs Ministry sign MoU today

A Memorandum of Understanding will be signed between Ceylon Electricity Board and the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Skills Development for the recruitment of skilled manpower for the Board at 9.30 am today.

The Ceylon Electricity Board has faced a shortage of skilled manpower during the last decade and this MOU would enable to get over that problem. In fact the under inter-ministerial committee itself has recommended that measure to tackle this situation.

Minister of Youth Affairs and Skills Development Dullas Alahapperuma, Minister of Power and Energy Patali Champika Ranawaka would be signing the MoU.

Five hundred applicants including Sinhala and Tamil medium educated youth would follow a special course leading to NVQ Level 4 and then would be directed for further practical training of three years, at the Electricity Board.

High ranking officials of the Youth Affairs Ministry and Power and Energy Ministry and several others from Government Institutes will participate.
