Higher education breaks new ground with NSBM

Youth Affairs and Skills Development Minister Dullas Alahapperuma and
Education Minister Bandula Gunawardena laid the foundation stone to
construct a State-of-the-Art education complex, the National School of
Business Management (NSBM), the degree awarding institution of NIBM, at
Pitipana Homagama yesterday.
This will be constructed at a cost of Rs. six billion as a modern
university structure, in 26 acres of land and will start operations in
2014.
The NSBM will deliver a quality higher education to Sri Lankan youth
to make the government's bid of making Sri Lanka a knowledge hub in the
South Asian Region, a reality.
The NSBM has planned to construct the university to house 20.000
students and will be equipped with residential and sports facilities to
compete with any other quality university in the region.
The NSBM will produce graduate and post graduate professionals in the
fields of Management, Computing and Engineering with a vision of
becoming the most preferred business school in South Asia. The courses
of the NSBM will be designed to take the students through an academic
and professional development process to produce employable graduates.
Youth Affairs and Skills Development Deputy Minister Duminda
Dissanayake, university representatives and foreign delegations attended
the ceremony.
