Applications for university admission for the academic year 2011/2012
based on the Advanced Level results of 2011 was to be accepted by the
University Grants Commission (UGC) from yesterday, the UGC sources said.
Accordingly, the UGC will allow the candidates who have already
submitted applications for university admissions based on the results of
the Advanced Level Examination held last year and whose Z-Scores are
changed as a result of recalculation of the Z-Scores as per the Supreme
Court judgement to change the 'Order of Preferences' marked by them when
applying for various undergraduate courses of study, the sources added.
Those who wish to make a request to change the Order of Preferences
should apply to the UGC on or before August 8. The UGC sources further
added that the requests for changing the preferences made after the
closing date will not be considered for university admission under any
